Mission Statement

The Mission of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (COSD) is to develop speech-language pathologist who are ethical, knowledgable, skillful, and capable of working both independantly and in collaboration with cltients, and families.

COSD Goals and Objectives

Upon completion of the graduate program of study in Speech-Language Pathology, the successful student will be able to :

Accreditation

The graduate program in speech-language pathology is accredited by the Council of the Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (http://www.asha.org/default.htm).

Professional Affiliations

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is affiliated with numerous hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, public schools, and other organizations located in Virginia and across the United States. The variety of clinical experiences has been noted consistently by our alumni as a strength of the graduate program
